Christmas Tag

Hello lovelies, I'm back again! Sorry for not posting very often at the moment I'm still very busy working on commissioned Christmas portraits, designing a CD cover and setting up my online shop.

Since I last posted on here, I have been to the Christmas markets in Manchester which put me in a festive mood after seeing all the pretty lights

I have been tagged by the lovely Vanessa to complete the Christmas Tag, so here we go!

1. Whats you favourite Christmas movie?
Ahh this sounds terrible but, I love lots of them and don't actually have a favourite.

2. What are your favourite Christmas colours?
My answer has to be the same as Vanessa's, it's all about the gold and red for me!

3. So you stay in your PJ's or dress up for Christmas?
I stay in my pyjamas til the latest 12 in the afternoon because I often get new clothes at Christmas so I can't wait to try them on.

4. If you could buy one person a Christmas present, who would it be?
ohh I can't choose that!

5. Do you open your presents Christmas eve or Christmas morning?
Me and my sister open one present at midnight on Christmas eve and then the rest on Christmas day. We haven't always done that, it's something we've been doing for the past 3 years or so.

6. Have you ever built a ginger bread house?

I did build one once, quite a few years ago now but, it was definitely interesting.

7. What do you like to do on your Christmas break?

I like to go the Christmas markets, watch lots of Christmas films and read Harry Potter. Reading Harry Potter makes me feel super cosy at this time of year (this may sound strange).

8. Any Christmas wishes?
That my parents stay awake longer than 5 minutes after eating our christmas roast.

9. Favourite Christmas smells?
It has to be that festive spice smell.
Every year my mum buys pot pourri that she puts out on the dining table which is full of dried orange slices, sticks of cinnamon, pine cones and berries which smells of festive spices. This year my mum got a diffuser with the same smell. Oh I also love the smell of hot chocolate too!

10. Favourite Christmas meal or treat?
Oh gosh I loveeee the roast potatoes my Dad makes, those covered in gravy are the dream. Anything chocolatey is a must at this time of year!

As I'm pretty sure all the bloggers I speak to have already been tagged, I tag anybody reading this to complete the tag (if you have a blog of course).

Thank you for reading!

Vintage Inspired Party Shoes

Hello lovelies, I hope you're all well! I haven't posted in a week mainly because I'm in the process of setting up my own online shop to sell prints of my drawings which takes up quite a bit of time.
Today though I have a post all about Vintage Inspired Party Shoes, yet again mainly 60's & 70's inspired. Whilst I was creating my last post on Jazzy Boots Perfect For The Festive Season I saw so many amazing heels when I was looking at the online clothes shops. So I thought I would share my finds with you lovelies! Once again I have featured shoes that are under £100 because for my budget that's a realistic amount to pay.
Honestly, River Island is the place to go to for all your party shoe needs!

1. Gold Crocodile Effect Strappy Block Heel Shoes for £45
I'm a massive fan of these shoes! I don't know what it is in particular, I think it's a combination of the colour and the style of the heel. I like that there are two straps.

2. Embroidered Floral Platforms from Topshop for £34
These shoes aren't very glitzy but, the floral embroidery would definitely add something to your outfit! The style of the shoes are platforms so they would add a touch of vintage to whatever you are wearing.

3. Sadly I can no longer find this on the River Island website so, I have a feeling that they have all sold out.
I loved the jewel details on those shoes, they made them look expensive.

4. Gold Textured Block Heeled Sandals from River Island for £30
There is just something about these heels that makes me think of 70's disco, if that makes any sense...(probably not). I'm huge fan of the style of the heel, which is the same as the Black Embroidered Heels (no.6).

5. Glitter heeled shoes from New Look for £24.99
Now these are definitely the most festive heels of the lot, with the metallic colour (silver) and the cheeky glittery heel. They make me think of Twiggy at Christmas because of the Mary Jane style to them, very Sitxties!

6. Black Embroidered Oriental block heel sandal from River Island for £48
These Oriental inspired embroidered heels are so nice and I think are very unique looking. They would look nice with a midi skirt and a turtle neck.

7. Velvet Block Heeled Shoes from New Look on ASOS for £24.99
I had to get a bit of velvet in somewhere didn't I? I like the addition of the single strap because I find when I wear any shoes without straps that they fall off the back of my feet, plus I think it makes the shoes look even cuter.

8. Metallic Strappy Mary Jane Shoes from River Island for £35
If you want quite a party shoe that has a bit of glitter these would be perfect for you, in the images on the website they seem to be quite subtly sparkly. They also look like they are a nice height especially for people who aren't very confident walking in heels. Also, the glitter heeled shoes from New Look (no.5) that would would be perfect for that too.

My next post will be all about my winter fashion essentials, I might even include a quick drawing

'This Time Next Year' Tag

Hello lovelies, yesterday I was tagged by Vanessa from Life of Vanessa (go and give her blog a read) to complete the 'This Time Next Year' Tag.
The tag was created by Sarah who was inspired by the new programme presented by Davina McCall called 'This Time Next Year'. The idea of the show is members of the public will come on the show and discuss with Davina a life changing goal that they'd like to achieve by next year (2017) and it then flashes forwarded to this year to see just whether or not they did manage to achieve their goal (I hope that makes sense).

This is how the tag works:
- You thank the person who tagged you
- Write your goals for the coming year

- Write about what you'll do to achieve them
- Tag at least 5 friends to share their goals
- Then this time next year return and say how successful you were in completing them

With that in mind this blog post is all about setting goals for myself in different aspects of my life, here are my goals for 2017.

Health
- Exercise more (well at all really) getting off my bum and get moving
- Have a more positive mind set which includes not putting myself down so much

Blog

- Have started posting exactly what I want to post on my blog including outfit posts, beauty/make up look posts & maybe some D.I.Y's. I will do this by simply not giving a damn!

- I'm going to me ambitious and say it would be amzing to have 1,000 followers on Bloglovin by interacting with other lovely bloggers and posting more consistently with a variety of interesting posts.

Illustrations

- Started selling a few of my illustrations in print form on my Etsy shop & maybe in other forms
- I hope to be attend my first art fair and sell my prints there
- Attempt to make my first Zine (mini magazine/book)
I will do all those things by stop putting things off because I think I might fail and just do it!
I will write a more in depth post on my goals for next year in my 'New Years Resolutions' post towards the end of the year.

I would tag friends in this but, I don't have any (wow that sounds sad). So, if you are reading this I tag you to post your goals for the coming year.

Thank you for reading!

Jazzy Boots Perfect For The Festive Season

Hello lovelies, so the most festive month is upon us, ahh I'm so excited! Since last year I have been seeing lots of pretty dreamy looking boots in the shops and being worn by super stylish bloggers. If like me you're like Bambi on ice when you walk in heels, boots are a great alternative! With that in mind I decided I would share some of my favourite boots in the shops that I think would be perfect for all festivities. You may or may not notice that most of them look like they came from the 60's or the 70's but, hey they are my favourite decades for fashion! Oh yeah by the way this post will contain a lot of metallic colours!

I have included boots under £100 to show that you can get pretty footwear with out spending a small fortune.
So, after all that chat here are my picks of festive boots

1. Sparkly Black Ankle Boots from Moda In Pelle Zola at Very - £54
If you want to add a bit of sparkle to your outfit but you don't want to go all out glittery these boots are perfect! They have a subtle bit of sparkle to them, they kind of remind me of a starry night.

2. Rose Gold Block Heel Boots at River Island - £25
I love the colour of these boots so much! Can I please wear them forever?

3. Silver Block Heel Ankle Boots at River Island - £40
Does anybody else think of the 70's when they see the silver heels? I think they would go well with a floaty dress or if you're feeling daring a pair of flares and a blouse.

4. Bronze Block Heel Boots from New Look - £29.99
The bronze colour of these boots are perfect for Autumn and Winter! The Rose Gold boots from River Island would be too!

5. Silver Zip Front Boots from River Island - £25
I'm sure I've seen an image of Jean Shrimpton wearing some similar in the 60's and would look really nice with a shift dress! With it being slightly colder how about a nice shirt with a jumper over top tucked in to an A-line skirt (with tights of course)?

6. Gold Glitter Block Heel Ankle Boots from River Island - £40
Now these are all out glittery, they are 'it's all or nothing' boots!

7. Poppy Metallic Rose Gold Ankle Boots from Urban Outfitters - £85
These rose gold are quite subtly metallic compared to the rose gold boots from River Island so, if you're not ready to go full on metallic

8. Faux Suede Star Boots from Miss Selfridges - £65
Add a bit of glitter and sequins to your outfit with these boot with star details. I think they would look great with a pair of black skinny jeans and a leather jacket.

River Island are currently as people say 'killing it' at the moment with jazzy boots and fancy heels! So are the other shops I have found

By the way this blog post is not sponsored by any of the shops featured in this post.

The '30 Beauty Questions' Tag

Hello lovelies, recently I have been thinking of posting more about beauty, I am definitely no expert when it comes to make up and to be honest my 16 year old sister knows more about it! But, I've always liked make up so why not talk about it? My blog is all about what I want to talk about whether it is seen as right or not. I've finally decided it's time to stop worrying about things being correct because I'm fed up of wishing I had tried something or done something.

I thought I would do this beauty tag to get me started.

1. Do you remember your first make up item?
It was probably either a lip gloss in watermelon flavour or a roll on glitter, who remembers those?
2. Describe your perfect mascara. Have you found one that fits your specifications?
My perfect mascara would give me length and volume. But, not make my eyelashes resemble spiders legs, so not super clumpy or anything like that.
3. What kind of coverage do you prefer from foundation?
I prefer a medium coverage.
4. Favourite high end brand?
I have never bought high end make up products.
5. What cosmetic brands have you always wanted to try but still haven't?
I would like to try Mac products just to see what all the fuss is all about.
6. Favourite drugstore brand?
Ohh you know what I don't have a favourite drug store brand!
7. Do you wear fake eyelashes?
Fun fact (well not so fun): I have never worn fake eyelashes ever!
8. Is there any kind of make up you can't leave the house without?
I can leave the house with out make up on but, a good concealer is often needed.
9. What is your cherised beauty product?
My cherished beauty product in general is lipstick or eyeliner. If I have to pick on product it would be my Chanel lipstick my lovely boyfriend got me for christmas last year (he did good).
10. How often do you shop for make up? Do you like to pick up an item here and there or get lots of goodies at once?
I only buy make up when I have ran out of a certain item.
11. Do you have a "beauty budget" or do you spend freely?
I do! I always buy products under £20 because at the moment I can't afford any with a larger price tag.
12. Do you utilize coupons, rewards cards and sales when you shop for cosmetics?
I will take advantage of offers like 2 for 1 if I want a product from that brand
13. What type of product do you buy the most of?
I have more lip products and eyeliners

14. Is there a brand that you absolutely can't stand?
No there aren't any so far

15. Do you avoid certain ingredients in cosmetics like parabens or sulfates?
No, I don't but, mainly because I don't know much about them.

16. Do you have a favourite place to shop for make up?
The only places I shop for make up are Boots and Superdrug
I find that Boots have more brands but, Superdrug is better at having more stock in. So many times I've come away from Boots empty handed due to them not having my shade in a certain product.

17. Do you like trying new skin care products?
I like trying new skin products but, when I have read good reviews about them

18. Favourite bath and body brand?
Soap and Gory or Dove.

19. If you could only buy from one brand, which brand would you choose?
Probably Benefit as everyone alwasy says how good all their products are.

20. What brand do you think has the best packaging?
Soap and Glory and Benefit, I love any packaging with a vintage feel.

21. Which celebrity always has great make up?
I think I would say Jenna Coleman and Alexa Chung.

22. Do you belong to any online make communities?
No I don't.

23. 5 favourite beauty gurus?
I don't have a favourite, I don't really know of many beauty gurus.

24. Do you like multi functional products like lip and cheek stains?
I do, I have a lovely Ted Baker lip and cheek tint stick that is such a nice peachy colour.

25. Are you clumsy in putting on make up?
I once managed to drop A LOT of loose powder foundation on my black skinny jeans just before I had to go out!

26. Do you use make up base/primer for the eyes?
Yes I'm strange and never actually put eye shadow on but, if I was to I would use a primer.

27. How many hair products do you use on a typical day?
On a typical day none? (I know it's strange) However, I do need to find a good volumizing spray or one that helps tackle frizz.

28. What do you apply first, concealer or foundation?
I apply foundation and then my concealer.

29. Do you ever consider taking make up classes?
No I would rather learn from tutorials on the internet that you can access for free.

30. What do you love about make up?
I love how artistic make up can be and how it can give people confidence!

I hope to do more beauty themed posts soon, maybe a review?
Thank you for reading!

My Favourite Bloggers and YouTubers

Hello lovelies, I thought I'd share my favourite bloggers at the moment with you. I wanted to create this post because I think is nice letting people know that what they're doing is appreciated and enjoyed (sounds cheesy but, I don't care).
The list is a mixture of people I've recently discovered and peoples blogs I've been reading for a few years now. Everyone featured in this post have atleast atleast three things in common they all have amazing sense of style and they are lovely, down to earth people which makes reading their posts and watching their videos so easy going and enjoyable. I would also secretly like to be friends with them all (well not so secretly anymore).

First up on my list is the cool cat (yes I did just use that term) Olivia Purvis creating perfect content over on her blog What Olivia Did , with the winning combination of her lovely writing, her fashion sense and her boyfriend Joe's photography makes for Pinterest worthy posts every time. I really enjoy reading about her adventures be it New York, Venice or little ol' Manchester, I love finding new places to visit in the city I visit quite often and new cities I can't wait to go to one day. Her fashion posts always go down well with me, she manages to create modern versions of vintage styles, most often Sixties styles (my favourite)
Back in 2014 Olivia was kind enough to answer a few questions for my blog, all things fashion and Great British Bake off talk. You can find my interview with Liv on here Getting to know you - What Olivia DidOh and she also has YouTube channel too, check it out here
Paige Joanna is another blogger that I have been following for a while now. I have currently been loving her DIY posts and can't wait to see more of those from her. I have always been a fan of Paige's style, its always playful with a fun pattern or bright colours or both at times! She mixes vintage styles pieces with modern day pieces. Oh and her hair is a-mazingg!! Head over to Paige's blog to see more of her lovely style and her fun, easy to follow D.I.Y's here. Paige has a YouTube channel too so go and have a watch here.

She writes interesting posts about life and working for your self as well as outfit posts showing you here cool laid back style. I definitely wish I could pull off ripped jeans and leather jackets like she can! I find her such an inspiring illustrator, everything she creates is amazing from her brush type to her portraits of people to her beautiful prints of city landmarks. Watching Saranne's videos is like stepping back in time to the Sixties with her amazing vintage style, the groovy (yes I did just use that word) music and her video editing looking like old polaroid photos. She definietly deserves alot more subscribers! My To Do List for November

Hello lovelies, today I'm going to share my To Do List for November with you, it's more of a general list of things I would like to have achieved by the end of the month than a super in depth day by day to do list.

- Started to learn the ukulele, I have wanted to do this
- Finally sort out printing my illustrations ready to sell
- Start selling my prints on my Etsy shop - if I'm successful in my printing quest
- Start exercising again (it's been a while)
- Decide on what colour and how I want my hair cutting
- Book my own appointment for my hair (yes, I panic when it comes to most interactions with other human beings)
- Have a conversation with at least one blogger - I'm far too scared to talk to people so this could be interesting!
- Get my head round SEO and other blog related things because I haven't the foggiest at the moment
- Do review of a beauty product probably a lip product
- Plan out my zine (mini magazine/booklet) ideas; A-Z of the Sixties & Bad Ass Women through out history
- Make a start on the illustrations for my first zine
- Finally sort out my room, so it no longer looks like I've just moved back home from uni (I did but back in June)
- Continue to be productive

I thought I'd do this short blog post as I'm currently working on a list of my current Favourite Bloggers and a Jazzy Boots Wishlist, which is taking me a bit of time with putting together images and such. I hope to have both of those up this week!

Thank you for reading!

Nobody's Child

Hello lovelies, so the other day I was scrolling through Facebook when I came across an advert for a shop called Nobody's Child, with the clothing on the advert looking right down my street I decided to take a look on their website. Oh how I was not disappointed well apart from the lack of funds I had to by every piece I loved!

Please stay with me whilst I ramble for a bit, I apologise in advice if I don't use the proper fashion terms for things, I'm trying. Oh also, this is not sponsered or anything of the such I just discovered Nobody's Child and fell in love.

Of course, I had to make a wishlist to share with you all! Before I start, no this post is not sponsored, I just saw so many pieces on their website I had to show you guys.

1. Bomber jackets made a come back in the Summer and I was a huge fan of them (lacking funds to buy one though) & this bomber is no exception with it's cute ditsy floral pattern.
2. The colour scheme is very Seventies (well I think so) with it's orange, dark red and mustard stripes.
 3. At the moment I am in love with this colour, this kind of blush nude colour especially on tops, shirts and skirts (basically everything). Another reason this top is on my wishlist is the high collar with ruffle detail, I think it would look so nice under a pinafore or just worn with some mom jeans and converses.
4. Now I don't normally like animal prints because they can often look tacky but, this bodysuit is an exepction. What's great with bodysuits is they can be worn with alot of things over the top; a skirt (ohh imagine with a really nice midi skirt and maybe some heels), with pants or for a more chilled outfit, jeans. The scoop back is lovely and would be perfect if you created a bee-hive hairstyle to really show it off.

5. This has to be one of my favourite pieces, with the cute gingham pattern and the peplum style to it makes it look super flattering.
6. I love the shape of the sleeves on this wrap dress it's yet another piece I think would look really flattering on, it's quite kimono like.
7. It's striped need I say more?
8. Recently, I have been seeing a lot of these pyjama style shirts in shops and worn by fashion bloggers, I really like how they look quite dressy and laid back at the same time. I think the star pattern is cute and I like the white piping detail.
9. I would never have thought to style a baseball shirt with a skirt but, I love it!
10. I NEED this skirt!!! It's black, it's velvet and I am slightly in love! I aways think velvet is perfect for this time of year.

I dare you to go on their website and not end up wanting at least one thing!

Thank you for reading!

Lush Halloween/Autumn Wish List

Ahh I'm so happy it's finally come (well it had when I started this post) , Autumn is here which makes me one happy bunny. You may not know but Autumn is one of my favourite seasons with Winter along side it. With Halloween fast approaching (literally less than a week away) I thought I should get this posted!

I have to make a confession, please make sure you are seated before reading the rest of this. I, Katie Marie Lennon, I have never had a Lush bath or a Lush shower for that matter. Yes, you don't need to re-read that sentence, you read correctly, it's not that I've not wanted to have a "Lush bath" believe me, I just have dodgy skin.
To cut a long story short for a few years now I have had super sensitive skin mainly on my legs so I've not been able to enjoy a bath comfortably for a while. Basically if I had bath or a shower my legs would itch non stop during and a good three quarters of an hour after. But, (touch wood) it's been quite a bit better recently.

After all that rambling here is my current Lush Autumn Wish List (I hope you appreciate my Autumnal coloured type I have used)

Fist up, the Sparkly Pumpkin Bubble Bar its a golden orange glittery pumpkin need I say any more to explain why I want it?
With it containing cocoa butter Boo Bath Melt seems like a cute (yes I called a bath melt cute) way to keep your skin hydrated, great for this cold time of year.
I've seen quite a few videos of the Autumn Leaf bath bomb in motion in peoples baths and the swirls of orange, red and green that it creates look so autumnal.
So before doing this post I went to read about each product and oh my goodness the video on the page for Monsters' Ball Bath Bomb , the colours are so beautiful! It looks like it puts on a show fizzing out into pink, purple and blue bubbles and then turning your bath into a deep blue lagoon. If that wasn't good enough it also helps to moisturize your skin.
The scent that Lush describes the Pumpkin Bath Bomb of having sounds like the perfect Autumn scent, orange and the ultimate Autumn spice Cinnamon  (I hope that sentence made some sort of sense).

Do you have any of the Halloween Lush products? What are your favourites?

Thank you for reading!

My recent illustration work

Hello lovelies, I thought I would create a post to share with you my recent illustration work. Since leaving University in July I've felt very lost to say the least, I've been so used to just creating my illustrations for projects to deadlines. Of course after finishing uni you're then meant to go out into the big bad world get a job! After no success on the job front so far and feeling pretty rubbish about myself, I recently decided I would finally get into creating more illustrations and with interest I would sell prints of them.

I have two projects on the go at the moment, I'm currently creating the artwork for a local singer songwriters chart single cd, which is crazy to think my illustrations will be on a cd that people can buy! I've enjoyed the experience so far, I also now have Photoshop so my live will be made so much easier, well it's either that or make it on Paint but, I'm pretty sure that wouldn't quite cut it some how.
I am also in the works of collaborating with Soho Radio creating merchandise for their shop which is crazzzyyyyyyy! I will definitely tell you more when I know more and things have been set in stone.

As I said earlier I have also been working on making prints of illustrations, I hope to have ones printed of my Frida Kahlo , Audrey Hepburn and Twiggy illustrations.

Here's a few examples of my recent illustrations

I hope you enjoyed this post!
Do you have any suggestions on people you would like to see me draw?

Thank you for reading!

I love all things Sixities; especially the fashion (oh hello mini skirts and colourful patterns), music and interior design. It has to be whatoliviadid her content is always perfect; her style of writing and the photographs her and her boyfriend Joe create are always amazing!
